This shot of Manhattan Beach is my new screensaver. It may be my new blog header one day soon - I haven't decided yet. I took this on my last trip back to LA while sitting in the sand and trying to figure out once and for all why I am so moved by the ocean. Whatever the answer, it always makes me calm.
After a day at work during an ice storm and an evening combing out nits, I need calm. And quiet. So - just this once - I'm doing my version of a Wordless Wednesday. Because let's face it - who would ever believe that I would be wordless? That's for people with maturity and restraint. The less I have to say the more I talk.
Enjoy the quiet. But don't get used to it.

That's okay, you can be quiet for a day, we'll get used to that a little bit now and then, but not too often, please.
I agree whole heartedly about the ocean. There is no better place in the world. Enjoy your quiet evening.
We had such a good time that day when we were at Manhattan Beach, remember? We found the BEST fish taco place completely by chance. I remember it well, as I hope you do.
How about a speechless Sunday? I'm a little concerned you're not feeling well...it's so out of character, after all! Enjoy the p and q.
Mya x
I think you deserve a day off after the frantic time you've had recently. I hope it's similarly quiet at home and that, for a change, the washing machine isn't running...
you ok, rc? this doesn't sound like you.
but you've had a stressful time. including the ice storm. i'd rather drive in two feet of snow than two inches of ice.
we'll be here when you feel like gabbing again.
oh - the peace. An excellent screensaver!
I'm okay everyone. Just having a really draggy end of week/weekend. I think I'm fighting a cold,I'm working both days, which doesn't normally happen and I'm just so damned tired of combing nits out of kid's hair.
I'll be fine. Honest. Tomorrow morning I'll be my usually loud mouthed self.
Quiet, I'm sure, aside from the non-stop humming from the non-stop running of the washer and dryer.
That said, I am at peace looking at that photo.
Have a peaceful Sunday.
You deserve a rest.
That is a beautiful picture. x
I feel that way about the ocean, too.
Gorgeous photo. Feel better. I hope you're not getting a cold and I hope the nits are gone soon.
We're having ice, too. Last night we had freezing rain and today we've had that with a bit of sleet and some snow flurries. Another storm is supposedly on the way. I'm better there'll be no school tomorrow. Yippee!! (It's my week to drive the carpool.)
I've never seen the horizon at such an angle, I hope all the sea water doesn't drain to the south.
Rest up sweetie. Hope you're ok. The nits will be gone soon, and all will be right in RC land. Or at least, as right as it ever is anywhere. :)
quiet....is good.....sometimes. enjoy the peace xora
Water, especially the ocean is so calming and tranquil. I love living on a lake, it sooths my soul, but there is nothing like the ocean. What a great picture.
Quiet is a good thing every now and then. Rest up and hope the knits are soon gone for good. That makes for the worse kind of ongoing stress!
Thinking of you, and sending peaceful thoughts.
XOXO
I love the ocean
time to plan another girls weekend.
We don't spend much money because just watching the waves dance is entertainment
OK, I am going to make a confession. When I can't get to sleep sometimes, I pretend that I can hear the ocean, the booming of the waves hitting the shore. To me it is one of the most comforting sounds in the world.
I feel the same way about the ocean, which why we moved back to the coast. Whenever I feel a bit too stressed, we drive out to Tybee, I park my butt in the sand and watch the ships flow in and out of the shipping channel. Then I watch the pelicans flying low in formation over the waves, and the play of light glinting off the water. It is heaven.
I've been keeping an eye on the weather, worried about the ice storms you guys are having. You don't need me to tell you this, but please be careful.
..s i g h .. I love the beach...wonderful non-action pic!

Beautiful picture. It made me chuckle this morning because yesterday, in search of something on TV that wouldn't warp an 8 year old's mind too terribly, we watched The Trouble with Angels with Hayley Mills. Silent Sunday, aw yes. Thanks for the chuckle.
