it just keeps getting better

No girlfriend at soccer today. Just one more thing to put on the To Do List.

And I seem to have a particularly cranky anonymous commenter, who, interestingly enough lives in my very own town. Or at least comments from there. And seems to have quite the pro-FX bent. Hmmm.

May you live in interesting times...

Your image choice made me laugh.

Just tell him to pick up the shattered pieces of his life and move on. Your life beyond the boys is none of his business.

It has to be so hard, but I'm glad your using your amazing humor as a coping skill.

He sounds like a person who wants both worlds. I admire you for trying to stay cemented on that high road, for the boys sake. Beyond that, you take care of you.

By the way, Facebook photos, boys so good looking! Loved them.
Happy Easter.

You're right to have him stay out of your private affairs, but you both share three kids together and even though he will never be the kind of father he should (which is sad), the boys are his business as well.

Also just for the record I am not the girlfriend. I do know your FX and he makes me just as frustrated at times, but I know he is trying the best his little fucked-up self can. I admire your moxie, and please remember you wouldn't be as strong as you are today if you had not endured the struggles you have had along the way.

I know what it is like to feel like your blog privacy has been invaded by people who should just go get LOST. It is not a pleasant feeling, especially when the purpose of the comments from someone such as the person above me is to make you feel uncomfortable. I hate mind games. Sorry you have to go through that.

Just so you know, I'm sorry I've been so quiet. I don't get the opportunity to comment as often as I did, but I am still your faithful reader and cheerleader. :-) Hugs.

So you should be grateful for the struggles that made you as strong as you are today? Wow, that's a new way of looking at life. I guess I have a lot to be thankful for then. All that shit that made me the person that I am today. Jeez people, thanks very much! Don't you feel especially grateful, RC?

Blimey! The comments threads are getting almost as compelling as your blog, RC!Who won the footie, by the way? (Er, that's soccer in your language.)

Very strange. I wonder what has brought this on...
Reminds me of when one of your readers got anonymous comments - some of them seemed to be a little crazed.
I got the impression in the end that anonymous was actually more than one person following her around the virtual world - that may be my training in language - or my natural cynicism. The two people she originally suspected actually commented openly, so it all added to the intrigue. I don't know if she ever found out who the loopy one was.
It will be interesting to see if you get a chorus from local lurkers suddenly....

did it again. Sorry.

i hate to be marching off in one direction while all of your readers, and you, are marching in another. but ... "blog privacy"? no such thing.

"no right"? it's on the internet. everyone has a right.

if you don't want him reading this blog, you have to make the blog private. as long as it's a free and open blog on the world wide web, the wide world--including your ex husband--have the right to read it.

i'm not defending him, and i'm not saying he should, and i agree it's frustrating and a little creepy that he does. but... all that said.... this is the world wide web. he lives in the world. sorry.

it's easy to take the blog private. you won't get new readers that way, but you already have an enormous and deeply loyal group of readers who will certainly follow you.

I am sure you get tired of me saying this, but Laurie is right. Take it private and you'll keep the FX and Miss Anonymous from reading your blog.

Hey Hon, I'm with Laurie. A blog is published and therefore public. Annoying, but true. Sorry, sorry, sorry not to be with you on this.

If I'm honest, I would find it well nigh impossible not to read the blog of an ex-partner. I really would. Even if I truly intended not to (and I probably wouldn't even get as far as intending).

I've looked up old boyfriends on google, and if I found they had a blog, I'd probably browse them from time to time - and we're talking boyfriends of years ago, and zero or minimal emotional baggage remaining. So if it was a blog of my major life partner, and the break-up was recent, then I know for sure I wouldn't be able to resist.

I'm not taking sides. I'm just pointing out that we're all human.

I think you were already strong -- you just had to use it to survive.

Don't give anyone else credit for who you are.

We know for a start that you could disable anonymous commenting and put a stop to that one.

As for him. Bah.

You know sweetie. We knew a long time ago he isn't worth it. We also knew he was going to cause problems because of the way he is.

Some day - some day - you're going to look at him and see nothing and hear nothing. His mouth is going to flap in the breeze and it will not matter.

If I was in your shoes I think I'd be saying - grrrrrrrrrrrrr....you want to read - well then here it is pal. And march on.

Sure we've all gots lots of advice for you RC. But in the end - it's your heart - your boys - your life - your mental health. You have to deal with it - not us.

Think of you here. Eventually - and it's not far off - your boys will be able to think and do for themselves and you will be alone. You'll be thinking of all you've fought for them over and wondered if it all mattered to them.

Here and now - ? I truly don't know what you'll do. But you have my support behind you.

Even though a blog is public - there is such a thing as decency and respect.

Sounds like you have someone "trolling."
Hang in their darling and I hope the boys and you have a Happy Easter.

Frances said...

Do you care? That is more to the point. If you don't want the possibility that anyone, including possibly tax-guy, reading your every word - well...

RC that anonymous guy gets around ...just delete him...anonymous should "man up"...

Cath said...

I still think it is the girlfriend. Or a friend of the girlfriend. :)

Does it matter? If it does - go private. I just had to as you know because I want to tell you guys what a great time I had at the beach or when my heart aches or whatever. But I don't want to tell my nosey neighbour. So I went private.

It is hard work as it doesn't come up on the reader and stuff, but worth it if you want that "privacy". It isn't quite the same though.

Anyway, you do what is right for you. Yes it is a public forum, but there is such a thing as manners and decency.
