I Love LA

Remember when I told you not to expect much from this post? Well, remember that you remember. Or something like that...

Between the time change and day light savings and working all weekend I make a limp dish rag look good right about now. But I've had a lovely day.

I slept for an entire three and a half hour flight, waking up only to hear the pilot say Welcome to Los Angeles.

I've eaten blackened fish tacos on the Manhattan Beach pier and successfully fought off pigeons that went to the Tony Soprano school of food recruitment.

I hiked up my corduroy pants and walked into my beloved Pacific while all the tourists took pictures and laughed. The air was cool and the sky was cloudy, but the water was the warmest I remember. It may have been hard to believe from the tears running down my face, but it was absolute bliss.

I looked at all the pictures my folks took in Turkey this fall, ate a bowl of mushroom barley soup, talked to my family in Kansas (twice) and am now ready to go nighty-nights.

Because tomorrow's another day. And I'm home.

Sounds like you had a great day. I'm very jealous of your ability to sleep during the flight.

I need to make a trip home one of these days. I crave Hotdog on a Stick at the Santa Monica Pier and their lemonade. Have a great time!

You sure do miss California. Soak it all in. Your day sounds lovely.

There really in nothing like the Pacific Coast for getting deep in your soul. Nothing fills it when you're gone and you feel complete when you have it back, even for a bit.

I'm glad you're having such a lovely time. Eat, drink and bring us more when you can.

Thank God you are back! Somehow the whole muggy, overcast crappy weather seems better now that you are here. Lunch tomorrow, right?

LOVE U!

You're making me feel homesick -- for Florida. It's always great to go back home and see, eat, and do the things you remember loving best. Have a great time, RC
