reality bites

It's cancer.

A type that tends to recur in the same area and has a low risk for metastasizing.

Final pathology tomorrow and a consult with an oncologist.

((((r.c. & kids))))i'm so sorry. i was hoping it wasn't what i thought it was. stinky's/showboat's dog had a lump in his anal area that turned out to be cancer. stinky paid $5000 to get it removed. he would have hated to not do anything. *crossing fingers, toes, eyes, and everything else they can take care of it*

I am so sorry. Hopefully it will respond well to treatment, then you can both do canine cancer survivor walks together.

Sorry about that last bit there, just a pitiful attempt at humor to try and bring you a smile across the miles.

I truly am sorry.

Sorry about that RC.
That blasted disease has just about blasted all our family up, so you have my sincere sympathies.
However............ sounds like your little friend is not in imminent danger & hope he has a long & trouble free life.
You, like me are finding that your troubles seem to be coming all at once. Life certainly is NOT FAIR!

you know how sorry i am! and you know i understand your devastation.
the good news is twofold:

1--the low risk of metastasizing. that means you're dealing more with a chronic condition than with a fatal one. you must think of it that way.

2--dogs do very very well on chemo. it does not make them sick the way it makes people sick.

good luck.

thinking of you, and the pup.

Thinking of you all RC through this further tough break. I second what laurie says, if it has to be cancer, this sounds at least treatable.

In the darkness shines a little light - "A type that tends to recur in the same area and has a low risk for metastasizing."

There is hope with that isn't there RC?

Hug him a good one from me.

I am so sorry. My pup had a tumor removed last week - benign, thank God. You and yours are in the prayers of me and mine.

Man, I hope you have an easier year next year!
