bail now...

If you are reading this blog on a regular basis (or even if this is the first time you're slogging through it), you should know that I love you dearly for it. I love you for your loyalty, your good will, your fabulous hearts and minds. Most of all, I love you for putting up with me and my BS. So few people are willing to take that load on.

In light of this, in fairness, I have something I have to say.

Get out.

Get out while you can.

Because the cloud over my head is growing and I can't guarantee that it won't reach its little tentacly fingers out to those I associate with. Or those who associate with me. Or anyone in my zip code, tax bracket, gene pool, blog carrier or time zone. I'm well aware that it really isn't all about me...but I'm going for caution anyway.

On top of the mice invasion, we now have a wasp influx in Gumby's room. You're not seeing things. I said wasps. When my mom and I went in to deal with them last night, I ended up with one crawling up the leg of my pants and stinging me on my leg. I never even saw it. Oh, alright. I saw it. I tried like hell to kill it dead and then it slunk away unseen and crawled up my pant leg. And frickin' stung me. There I stood, ripping my pants off and yelling...kind of makes you wish you were me, doesn't it?

Get out while you can.

I'm pretty sure the locusts are next.

Oh honey.... What a crap few months you're having :(

All my love your way, and here's sincerely hoping that someday, you'll be able to look back on this particular incident from somewhere happy and less stressful and laugh your ass off. And I hope it's sooner rather than later.

Since you're likely to be stung again-I hate wasps-make a paste of baking soda and water. Slather it on the bite. I swear it helps.

Whatever you do, don't go to work. The moon will be full and for sure, with your luck, you're guaranteed a nutcase.

Perhaps you need someone to come to do an exorcism on that house... just sayin.

Hang in there; sorry, platitudes are all I have left apparently.

((((HUGS))) I can't believe all the stress that is ending up on your doorstep (or in your house). I'm glad your mom was there, it always helps to have mom around. Hope your sting is better.

I would never bail. In fact those words scared me because I thought you were going to announce that you were going to stop blogging. That would have been very depressing.

Just know your not alone! Ever.

My first thought was that you had a helluva weekend and required bail. Wasps, ugh. At least you are well insulated now?

It is all kind of reminiscent of the Amityville Horror. When the walls begin to ooze blood it is time to bail!

And, it's only Monday...

I'm not going to bail. No way! I'm in it for the long run. You're not getting rid of me that easily. Now, we just need these other things to loose their grip on you...

RC, I feel it is a home from home, having things in your house you don't want to have and the problems that arise in your life take my mind of MY problems! Just part of everyday living. Course I won't just go away!
We had wasps once too. get in the experts! They can be vicious.
These old houses have their problems. I can remember you said yours was well over a hundred years old, like mine.
Hang in there. You are worth more than wasps. Show 'em whose boss!

Hah! Like devon - I thought Amityville - LOLZ - but the great thing for all of us is that you get a funny take of stuff and make us laugh while we also empathise. Much easier to laugh at someone else's struggles than our own!
Glad your Mom is there with you.

PS Middle Eastern remedy for stings, cut a clove of garlic in half and rub cut side on the sting. You smell a bit, but it neutralises the sting. I guess you know all the remedies for stings - thinking what your work is!

You are having a bit of a time of it aren't you hon?

It's a test of your strength and you know that you will get through this. You're a bit further down the "single" road than I am but there are days when I sit and weep because, with everything that gets thrown at me, it all gets too much. I do feel your pain.

I won't be bailing either. I'm here if you need a shoulder.

Piriton - it fixes everything. And I do hope this doesn't mean we're about to get wasps as well (bearing in mind we also have mice)...

As if we would bail! Chin up - it has to get better soon - right? :)

rudee's right about the baking soda and water. benadryl helps, too. but you're a nurse; you know that.

riley got stung a few summers back, right on the snout. his nose swelled up so big he looked like Opus.

there's something you can buy called wasp freeze, or some such name. you spray the nest and it freezes it (and paralyzes the wasps) so you can remove it safely.

better stock up.

It's like the ten plagues of Egypt. If the local river starts running red, let me know!

I know I have been a really crappy commenter lately, but I still read, still thinking about you, still wishing you the best, sending happy vibes your way.
I just didn't want you to think I had already bailed, I'm still here in your cheering section!! HUGS!

No no no arrrgh! Locusts next would NOT surprise me.

I'm sorry - really I am. I do not know how you are coping (by blogging?) but you are coping.

I am going nowhere. I actually care what happens to you. I have never met you, but it matters to me.

On the other hand, you write a great blog too. ;0)

(((((hugs))))))

PS Come to mine for light relief and that wonderful Monday song....

Sweetie, locusts wouldn't even give you pause.

At least the lice are gone.

After reading all of the above comments I don't think I have anything helpful to add.

I had an infestation of honey bees in my diningroom wall. I zapped them with a bug bomb and then opened up the wall and took them out with a shovel. I had a crinoline over my head and tied around my neck and elastics around my wrists over the gloves and socks over my pantlegs with elastics over those. I still got stung 3 times. Every male in the house stood around the corner and watched....the wusses!

Ya - get the priest honey. I think you might need it. For more reasons than one and I'm not even Catholic.

I'm not bailing. Ever. Love you too much for that.

What have you done that's so bad that you deserve to have all this pestilence invasion??? :(

I got stung last Friday afternoon- they are crazy right now and will be until a hard freeze kills them off- we hit record lows on Saturday- I am cautiously optimistic that ours are done now!- klcrab
ps- vinegar works well if you keep pouring it over the sting immediately for about 2-3 minutes

They say God will never give you more than you can handle...but, more than once, I have had to to remind God that sometimes He overestimates my abilities.

Not a religious freak or anything, but it's time for this crap to STOP! Dang, I will fight the tentacles and read on...
