candle time

Please join me in sending birthday wishes to LFG today. Otherwise known as Larry (his real name) and my confidante, buddy, alter ego and sometimes whipping post for well over half of my life. (Sometimes I'm the whip and sometimes I'm the post. Sometimes he talks such circles around me that I'm not really sure what the hell I am. I'm sure he'd say the same. About the talking circles anyway.)

This is one of those "milestone" birthdays, and one which I, thankfully, will not reach for another two years. Not that milestones are bad, exactly. It's just that I've reached my milestone quota for the last year and am not accepting any new applications until January 1st of next year. In the meantime I'm perfectly happy to sit back and comment on other people's milestone moments. That's just the kind of gal I am.

I have to say that in reading comments over the last few weeks - as you've all gotten to see us go at each other - that I really love the idea of co-writing a post with him. Maybe a He Said/She Said type thing - describe your relationship in a hundred words or less. No? A thousand? Possibly? (As he said to me a couple of weeks ago while reading a (really long) email that I wrote - "Damn, you're long winded. I don't think I could write that much if I was getting paid by the word.")

Well, we all know I can. Without being paid a cent. And I bet he could too.

Wouldn't that be fun?

Happy B'Day to your friend! A "He Said, She Said" could be quite interesting...

BTW, I don't know how you feel about this but you've been tagged! You don't have to do it but if you want drop by Mops and Pops Place to check it out.

I think my brain has been partially eroded by a foreign substance, because I'm drawing a complete blank on who LFG is and what those initials stand for and how he fits into your life and how he could have done so for more than half of it. Would you be a dear and refresh my memory. I'm really afraid of early onset dementia.

Hugs,
Irene

First, Aw shucks...... Second, at least I'm good for giving you a easy post once every *#!!*&#@ years. Third, some of your readers have even a worse memory than mine. More deficiencies to expect in the future. Oh joy.

How could you forget someone with a bird on his head?

Happy Birthday RC's ancient friend.

Many happy returns.

They don't remember you because she has only said good things about you LFG - LOL

Nothing salacious, scandalous or shocking, nothing bodily-fluids related... - I'm sure she could, but she hasn't!

LFG said...

Frances, no stories involving fluids, sorry. Just life, almost 30 years worth. Oh to be young again. Youth is wasted on the young.

It would be great fun. Really. I expect the bare facts from him and the details from you. All of them. You know the sort of thing - colours, time, size, smell ... all the important stuff.
Hope he has a great day.

And of course - how can a bird brained ... I mean... bird headed person be forgot? How's the bird bearing up in this milestone mayhem? Will the bird comment at all?
Just wonderin'.

Happy Birthday Larry!

Bird would have plenty to say. He use to be RC's.

i vote yes. you are both very entertaining. and it would be good for my health, remember laughter and levoquin (i'd really prefer oxycodone) are the best medicine!
it's all about me, RC....

I'm all for a joint post over here!

Now, I'm trying to figure out...is LFG turning 30? 40?

And there HAS to be a story involving bodily fluids. Has to. It's not a real friendship without at least ONE.

LFG said...

you are too kind, Tiggerlane. Unfortunately, next round number up.

Thumbelina said...

I vote for a joint post between LFG, RC AND the bird.

Happy birthday LFG!

Well, I do believe a post cowritten by you two would prove extremely entertaining... wet or dry.

RC has not always spoken highly of LFG... wasn't there a mention of regret regarding a missed opportunity to strangle him in his sleep.

As I know neither of you in "real life" I have to wonder how she even had the opportunity... have we circled back around to fluids?

To be overly serious and consider any of this of actual newsworthiness to anyone, occasionally under same roof (no, not roommates), but never between same sheets. A ex of hers once said, "you spend enough time together, you might as well be fucking". Some say that a man and woman can never be friends without eventually ending up in bed. Does this make us abnormal, or does it just mean that it hasn't happened yet ?????

Sex would literally screw things up. Don't go there, don't even think about it.

A joint post, huh? Our beloved author might have to relinquish her title of Rotten Correspondent then. Still, front-page, lighthearted combat might be OK. But I'm worried it might be too like sex--and screw things up.

What's this? you leave the guests chatting amongst themselves and disappear on a holiday somewhere?

lebanesa said...
