why ask why?

Why do most of our patients who are my age look so much older than I do? Or do they?

Why do I have the awful suspicion that the only reason my wireless has started working again in the last 24 hours is that we're hitching onto someone else's service? And why has my wireless server completely disappeared off of my computer?

Why was it so hard to keep a straight face when one of our older male frequent fliers came in today in a hot pink negligee and crotchless panties, clutching a bottle of tequila and a cordless drill?

Why do I think that my body is going to take matters into its own hands by making me sick? All day long I've felt like someone is sitting on my chest and it hurts like a mofo to breath. I never get anything respiratory and I don't feel like starting now.

Why did I pick up shifts every day this week except one? Am I nuts? If so, why?

Why did I get almost no lilacs this year off of my lilac bushes? Is there some gardening trick to make them lush that I've missed?

Why am I still up writing this when I just want to sleep?

Why ask why?

Yes, you are nuts. We have all told you to stop picking up so many shifts.

The guy pink is doing his best to make sure you never have a dull moment.

With lilacs you win some, you lose some, this just isn't your year.

And you have a mild blogging addiction just like the rest of us.

And don't ask questions, just enjoy the connection.

Rest, and then rest more. You are going to need it.

Stop taking shifts and go to bed. You're starting to sound a little nuts. Oh, and I have no answers for you, but I'm pretty sure sleep would help (coming from the gal who stayed up until the middle of the night last night).

Sleep will heal everything. SHHH! Nite nite!

Yep - everyone is telling you like it is.
When you are tired, go to bed. Simple. When you are over-tired your brain doesn't function properly.
So you are nuts because you are overtired.
Believe us. Been there done that, got the loose marbles to prove it.
NOW GO TO BED AND STAY THERE. Unless you're back at work - in which case DON"T go to bed, there might be a man with crotchless lingerie there. Timing is difficult with being in UK when you're in US.
You have your answers. and you will have more. no doubt.

Cut back on the shifts. Please.

The crotchless panties would have made me burst out laughing, and I would have been stripped of my Cherry Ames nursing cap and escorted to the door, laughing.

My lilacs have leaves. That's all. Not a bud to be seen. I'm as confused as you are.

There's a 12-step program for blogging addiction, but I don't know anything about it because I only blog 2-3 month.

Please drink one glass of good red wine while reading something light, and then turn out the light in 5 minutes and sleep. Which you could do more often if you didn't work so many shifts.

If your wireless box has disappeared, one of the boys has it, especially if you now have wireless now. Your choice for the little hacker: punish him for taking it or reward him for fixing it.

And give thanks Crotchless Panty Guy (Girl?) didn't follow you home with the drill.

Hugs. Sleep.

Questions that could do with some answers! Take care xx

Why not?

Did you remove the old lilac blooms last year? Threaten them with tequila and a drill, that'll get 'em flowering.

Stop working so hard before you get ill. Please.

trim the lilac bush immediately after it blooms.
you'll get blooms next year.

if you trim it too late, you trim off next year's buds.

as for the too-many-shifts-thing, well, i will not repeat myself.

I'm with every one else about not working so many shifts and giving yourself m ore time for sleep. I understand the feeling you need to bring in as much money as possible, but if you make yourself sick you won't be able to work at all.

As for the lilacs I had a neighbor (whose lilac bush reached into my yard as well as hers)who was told to only cut back a third of the bush severely each year. I don'[t remember how well it really worked, but she had years when the bush was lush and years when it wasn't.

You need some rest honey, don't ignore the warning signs. x

The Recipe:
Equal parts honey, bourbon and lemon juice. Consume enough and you won't care that you're sick. After a week of denial about how sick you really are, go see your PCP. The URI that is going around is a bitch. Cough. Cough.

I'm sure your coworkers won't like it if you call in sick but then, they won't like your infection either.

BTW, I don't think you're nuts. Just sleep deprived. Robitussin with codeine is way underrated as a sleeping aid.

You know, you really shouldn't ask questions you don't want to hear the answers to... Cut a shift or two.

This too shall pass??

You're running away from the obvious with all your shifts RC. Perhaps you'll let yourself rest once June 1st comes around. And when it does I'm really hoping for your sake that your boys start acting differently. It is obvious that they are acting out as well. ...my thoughts are with you!

RC,
I hope you get some rest.
I hope you can stop feeling the need to work so many shifts. Your body is trying to tell you something, listen to it. Please. Remember what you told me about respiratory symptoms, take your own advice.
Nothing is as important as your health (physical and emotional) and your children. Your spent my friend, and you need, must replenish. Put that on the top of your To Do List.

Happy Nurse's Day (tomorrow). The profession is so very lucky to have you.

I think you might have had cold enough weather to stunt the growth of blooms. IT doesn't take much, they are very delicate and sensitive.

Take care of you, girl.

ps, I emailed you a couple recipes. I need to scan some to email yet too.

Your body's telling you that you need some time off. Sooner than later!

Take care,
