I want a day - a mere 24 hours - where I can say whatever I want without having to worry about what anyone thinks. A day where I don't have to be polite or understanding or supportive or anything. A day where I wouldn't have to worry about looking petty or vengeful or difficult. A day where I don't have to be the good mother or the compliant employee or the agreeable ex-wife.
I want a day - a mere 24 hours - where I can just let 'er rip and let the devil take the hindmost. I want to be a woman without a filter for one short, delicious period, and I can guarantee you that I'd make very good use of the time allotted.
Is this too much to ask?

No, it sounds great to me. I would like that too!
Doesn't sound like too much to ask. As long as you're not going to be seriously malicious.
If you can do it for one day, you may be able to do it for more than one day.
That might be very liberating. I hope it would be.
Uh oh, what happened?
hmm. i would have thought this was you every day!
Go ahead - online at any rate. Feel free to post on my blog if that's what it takes!
Unless you are planning on being mean and vengeful, I think you should just do it as a matter of course and not worry so much about other people's feelings. Maybe you do too much of that. Being nice isn't the same as being a good human being. Being honest is the better choice.
There was a recent episode of House that was just like this. A guy had a disorder that made him say exactly what he was thinking all the time.
Things didn't go so well for him.
Honestly, I would love to lay into people sometimes and I just don't because patching everything up later is more than I want to think about.
How nice to have a universal "Get out of Jail Free" day where we can all honestly tell people what we think about them with out have to fully explain ourselves later.
Mmmmm sounds like you've been people pleasing too much and are a bit wound up. Chances are though, if you're anything like me, you'd say what you really think and then worry about it in case you'd upset or disappointed someone. Dammed if we do, dammed if we don't!!
Sounds good to me - in the words of Jean-Luc Picard - Make It So!
Nope. It is not too much at all.
It seems you are all things to all men and no one left for you.
If you can't get 24 consecutive hours, just try for 6, over 4 days. 6 hours each day...
Better than none.
(((hugs for RC)))
Isn't that what blogging is for?
If you get one, be sure to let me know so I can too!
Might be best to say it all on your blog. Safer if you know what I mean. Failing all else, it sounds like an intriguing book or movie.
