I've had quite a Saturday. In trying to clear my head and put my priorities in order, I'm going with the plus/minus system.

Plus: I didn't have to work today.

Minus: I'm still tired from working Friday and have to work Sunday.

Plus: A beautiful day for the last soccer game of the season.
Minus: We got our shorts handed to us and I have a sunglasses sunburn.

Plus: My friend Stacey had a wonderful 50th birthday party that we've just gotten back from.
Minus: Lots and lots of people and a claustrophobic's nightmare.

Plus: Wine. Lots of wine.
Minus: Wine. Lots of wine.

Plus: Sasquatch has been in quite a good mood lately.
Minus: Report card arrived in mail.

Plus: He's still alive.
Minus: He has quite a future in french fry delivery technology.

Bonus Minus: I'm creeping closer to my grave by the minute.

Plus: Gumby and Surfer Dude hanging over my bed with a hand made breakfast tray.
Minus: Breakfast immediately followed by a request for a sleepover.

Plus: I made a Greek spaghetti dish for the party that Stacey specifically requested and got a fabulous response.
Minus: Every single pot in my kitchen is now dirty.

and to turn things around...

Minus: My entire house is filled with boys from prearranged sleepovers.
Plus: I get to have to work tomorrow.

It's a shame that there is always a downside to things. It's a shame, I should say, when that starts to weigh heavier than the upside, because you are tired. Sounds like it is time for a much needed break. Any chance you will be able to squeeze that in? I always think you do a wonderful job managing all the different challenges in your life. You do have many of them!

The party sounded great, so did teh food. Why is there always a down side to life? Sorry you have to work today. Take care.

There's always a minus isn't there? All in all your list seemed equal so I suppose it's not too bad. Don't work too hard today! ;)

Hang in there. The minuses help us appreciate the plusses more - that's what I tell myself anyway!
I'm very curious about your adventure...Hmmm. Mya taps chin ponderously and looks inscrutable...

at least your life is full!

it sounds like a lot more pluses than minuses to me.

not to be pollyannaish, or anything.

what'd you figure out about Dee Dee?

Sounds like you enjoy life, despite the minuses. Lots of boys having a sleepover - shudder ........ That sounds like my worst nightmare - a double, double minus!

Plus: All of my children are gone to various places.

Minus: I can't think of one right now. Ask me again in 12 hours.

I liked this post.

ha! are you really reading "lonesome dove"? i feel so...influential!

i am just starting its sequel, "the streets of laredo," which i understand is very very very dark.

Yin-yang, baby. Take the totter with the teeter.

The good thing about a houseful of boys is that you know where they are and what they're doing.

Plus: I'm going to comment on your excellent post.

Minus: I've forgotten what I was going to say.

For you...

Plus: It shouldn't be your turn to do a sleepover for a long time.

Minus: You have to feed and clean up over all those little bodies.

For me:
Plus: I decided to do NaNoWriMo and write a novel in 30days.

Minus: I broke my digital camera.
Boo hoo.

Very funny! Yesterday was a total kidfest and I am still a little frazzled from it all. I'll post on this later when the caffine in my blood stream reaches its appropriate level!

"Heh" is right. I hope you parlayed that sleepover into having SD and Gumby scrub your kitchen for you.

I often feel that work is an oasis from homelife. Wouldn't want to do nothing but work, but it does have it's place.

I loved the plus/minues graphic. Meh, a little sweet, a little sour. I suppose that's life, but wouldn't it be nice if those plusses could outweigh the minuses sometimes?

Why hasn't your head exploded yet?!

Lists!! I love lists!

Plus: you write a great blog and have lots of loyal commenters to prove it

Minus: um, um, er, um, ooooh, here's a plus without a minus!

Great lists. Apart from the line in green. Do you think about that one a lot too? Then it's not just me then.
